We are creators. Take ten minutes and post something on Instagram and then blog about it.

John Spencer wrote this....

Here is John Spencer's 1 minute video

We are creators.  I like Spencer's point about CREATING...  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1%25_rule_(Internet_culture)   the 1% rule is a rule of thumb pertaining to participation in an internet community, stating that only 1% of the users of a website actively create new content, while the other 99% of the participants only lurk.

DESPITE that "rule", I've noticed that even my students who consume music actively try to create by singing along.

>>>>  so let's just have ten minutes of blogging (like "hour of Code"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rH7AjDMz_dc

Turn a word into a VERB in another language... a lesson about FLEXIBILITY and ADAPTABILITY from John Spencer

Here's what came in my email today:

Hey there, this is John. I hope you're having a great weekend. I just thought I would share two sketchy videos I created. They're both around a minute long. The first is called Soy Milk and the other is Bowling Pin. If you enjoy them and want to show me some love, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel.

I've looked at the phrase SOY MILK since 1995 and I never put the SPANISH spin on it. It's like ths shape that is in the FEDEX logo. I never saw or noticed the OTHER until it's pointed out to me.

I want to encourage my students to look broadly. I'm going to show them this doodle. How did you create the "dorky" video? In reality, you are demonstrating three things
Go here

Add caption

1. how to catch attention (with drawings. Dan Pink and Seth Godin point this out)
2. how to look for patterns and be adaptable (I thought SOY was an adjective, but you turned it into a verb in Spanish.... clever)

3. how to notice and bring a grammar pattern from one subject to another subject (from Spanish to biology and English)....

Be nice... it'll be good for your brain and your flexibility.  Subscribe to John's youtube channel

The other "word nerd" video he made recently is a BOWLING pin... who is BOLD...
