The Fragile Room |
What is the SECOND LANGUAGE at Microsoft? It's not from India or China....
Answer at the bottom of this blog post.
What could our school include?
A Greenhouse (to watch plants grow and learn about genetics and biology)
A TAKE APART Lab... what is inside a computer? What is inside a TV?

Chemistry lab in Gordonstoun |
A Computer RESURRECTION room: What if we accepted donations of computers? Some of us could learn how to restart computers. Some of us could learn how to buy the RIGHT parts cheaply. Some of us could install new software or the old software with the RIGHT adware, malware and antivirus protection.
A FRAGILE ROOM -- what if we could handle things that might break? or get lost? What if we trusted students to be gentle with a chick or a small animal with breakable limbs? DON'T DROP THE DUCKIE!
a DANGEROUS ITEMS room -- what items should NOT be in a school? Can we put simulations of those items in the room? What woudl be the consequences? How about a word called "anthrax" and we had to make sure it NEVER leaked fom the bottle. IT would be an interesting simulation.

Obstacle course |
Gordonstoun has a RESCUE team (on water and on skis).
What community service can our school offer?
![]() |
Fire Rescue |
How about an obstacle course for good health?
WHO CLEANS THE SCHOOL? What if we cleaned our school the way Japanese students keep their school clean?

sea rescue |
A cafeteria -- It would be cool to walk into a room and eat ANYTHING WE WANTED TO in that room... and then go back to class refreshed. Hmmmm... how could we pay for that?
How can we respect each other better?
I want to see posters of the 9 JOHN CORLETTE rules on every classroom wall. Or is there a less obvious way to bring Corlette into our behavior? And who was this guy?
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

What percent of ACCESS TO THE INTERNET takes place by phone (versus tablet or computer)? See below. How can we advertise our school's policy to make mobile phones the best way to search or to assist in our learning? What banner do you want to create? BING BANNER
A food truck -- some of us could become good at cooking, others could be excellent drivers and cleaners, we could obtain the property insurance and get inspected by the government. Wow, we could get into a lot of trouble.
What are the percentages of foreigners working for Microsoft?

They say the second language spoken at Microsoft is Hindi (or dialects). The third would be Romanian.
I'm interested in finding out what are the percentages of foreigners (based on their nationality) working for Microsoft (in US and maybe abroad).Even an approximation figure would be suffice.

THAT comes from QUORA
ROMANIAN... not Hindi or Urdu or Mandarin or Russian...
The second language spoken in Microsoft, after English, is Romanian.
